Where the name comes from

Oliver's origin is genuinely debated - one common theory connects it to the olive tree by way of Old French, while another traces it to an older Germanic name meaning something closer to 'elf' and 'army'; name historians haven't settled on a single answer.

Why this moment matters

Two steady rhythms at once - rain on a roof, a parent's slow rocking - is about as reliable a recipe for sleep as exists.

The story behind this song

Rain patters steadily on the roof while dad rocks him slowly in the dark, the two sounds finding the same rhythm.

A bedtime song with a name in it

A slow lullaby built around one child's name: a good night song for bedtime, nap time and the last song of the day.
