Where the name comes from

João is the Portuguese form of John, from the Hebrew Yochanan, 'God is gracious' - one of the most common names in the Portuguese-speaking world for centuries.

Why this moment matters

Rain on a roof is one of the oldest, most dependable sleep sounds there is, tile roofs or not.

The story behind this song

Rain drums steadily on the roof tiles above him, a sound as familiar as any lullaby.

A bedtime song with a name in it

A slow lullaby built around one child's name: a good night song for bedtime, nap time and the last song of the day.
