Gabriel tu es arrivéGabriel you arrivedLe jour où l'hiver a cédéOn the day the winter gave wayLes branches étaient encore nuesThe branches were still bareMais elles allaient s'éveillerBut they were about to wakeLa terre gardait sa froideurThe earth still held its coldEt déjà montait la couleurAnd already the colour was risingOn t'a porté jusqu'au balconWe carried you out to the balconyPour te montrer le premier vertTo show you the first greenUn merle chantait sur le toitA blackbird sang on the roofComme s'il savait ton prénomAs if it knew your nameLe printemps n'a rien demandéSpring asked for nothingIl est simplement arrivéIt simply arrivedGabriel enfant du printempsGabriel child of the springLe monde ouvrait ses voletsThe world was opening its shuttersGabriel enfant du printempsGabriel child of the springTu es né quand tout renaissaitYou were born as everything began againTu grandiras avec les saisonsYou will grow up with the seasonsTu verras beaucoup de printempsYou will see many springsTu quitteras cette maisonYou will leave this houseEt reviendras de temps en tempsAnd come back now and thenMais ce matin de mars resteraBut this March morning will stayLe jour où le jardin s'ouvraitThe day the garden openedGabriel enfant du printempsGabriel child of the springLe monde ouvrait ses voletsThe world was opening its shuttersGabriel enfant du printempsGabriel child of the springTu es né quand tout renaissaitYou were born as everything began again
