Where the name comes from

Alejandro is the Spanish form of Alexander, from the Greek Alexandros - commonly glossed as 'defender of the people,' though like many ancient Greek names its exact original sense is debated.

Why this moment matters

That first morning home is the real beginning of the story, long before anyone remembers the details of the hospital itself.

The story behind this song

The first morning home, wrapped tight in a hospital blanket while the whole house moves quietly around him.
