Where the name comes from

Laura comes from the Latin laurus, 'laurel' - the tree whose leaves crowned victors and poets in ancient Rome.

Why this moment matters

A car full of people singing badly and happily on the way to the beach is one of those memories that gets better every year it's retold.

The story behind this song

The whole car sings the whole way to the beach, windows down, the sea getting closer with every verse.
