Harlow looks up up so highA giraffe is touching the skyIts neck is long its legs are tallIt is the tallest one of allIt nibbles leaves up at the topIts long tongue curls flip flip flopHarlow stretches on her toesAs tall as tall as Harlow goesTall giraffe Harlow reach up highStretch your neck up to the skyMunch munch leaves and wiggle your earsTall giraffe Harlow give three cheersThe giraffe bends down so slowTo say hello way down belowShe waves and laughs and jumps aroundHer giggles bounce up off the groundTall giraffe Harlow reach up highStretch your neck up to the skyMunch munch leaves and wiggle your earsTall giraffe Harlow give three cheers

Where the name comes from

Harlow comes from an English place name, usually read as 'rock hill' or 'army hill'.

Why this moment matters

A giraffe is the animal that makes a toddler realise how tall tall can be, and stretching up to match is the natural response.

The story behind this song

At the zoo Harlow looks up, up, up at a giraffe nibbling leaves from the very top of the trees, and stretches on her toes to be just as tall.
