Where the name comes from

Kingston is usually read as 'king's town' or 'king's manor', from Old English; in America it sometimes comes from the surname King.

Why this moment matters

A first birthday is really a party for the family, and the paper crown is how the one-year-old gets to be in charge for the day.

The story behind this song

At his first birthday party Kingston wears a golden paper crown, with streamers overhead, Grandma singing and everyone clapping along.
