Where the name comes from

Beckham comes from an Old English place name usually read as 'homestead of Becca', after a personal name, and later a surname.

Why this moment matters

Turning cream into butter by shaking is a kitchen trick that still feels like magic, and passing the jar round makes it a whole-family job.

The story behind this song

The family passes a jar of cream around the table - Daddy, Mommy, Grandma, Beckham on tiptoe - shaking and shaking until it turns to butter.
